The Cape Lookout Lighthouse prepares for a multi-year restoration project led by Stone & Lime for the National Park Service.

Cape Lookout Lighthouse Renovation Set to Begin

The National Park Service has officially announced the start of a comprehensive restoration project for the Cape Lookout Lighthouse, naming Stone & Lime Historic Restoration Services as the restoration contractor. Scheduled to span approximately two to three years, the project will include historic masonry preservation, restoration of cast-iron architectural elements, rehabilitation of windows and doors, and repainting of the lighthouse’s distinctive black-and-white diamond pattern. This significant preservation effort will help ensure the long-term protection of one of North Carolina’s most iconic maritime landmarks.
