National Pilgrim Memorial Meetinghouse

Client: General Society of Mayflower Descendants

Stone & Lime Masonry Restoration Services was recently awarded the exterior restoration of the 1897 Hartwell, Richardson and Driver designed National Pilgrim Memorial Meetinghouse (Mayflower Meetinghouse).

The General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD) became sole owner of the building in December 2018 and will lead the efforts to restore and preserve it. The Mayflower Meetinghouse is the fifth spiritual structure built on this location and, in 2014, was added to both the National Register of Historic Places and the List of Massachusetts’ Most Endangered Resources.

The exterior restoration scope includes full exterior masonry restoration, historic slate roof replacement, historic door and window rehabilitation and the reinstallation of the iconic Robinson Stained Glass Windows. The exterior will be complete by close of 2019 in time for the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower voyage and the founding of Plymouth, MA. Restoration of the Meetinghouse will be completed by 2021 for the 400th Anniversary of Thanksgiving.

Dates of Performance: 7/1/2019 - 12/1/2019
