Tortugas Harbor Lighthouse Shoring

National Parks Services

Constructed in 1826, the 65' lighthouse is positioned on the eastern shore of Fort Jefferson. After weathering 191 years of hurricane seasons, Stone & Lime provided interim control measures to stabilize and shore the Garden Key Harbor Light before the 2017 hurricane season (and Hurricane Irma) hit the island. The Lighthouse has been temporarily shored from both the interior and exterior to remove the loading of the most critical structural components.

Dates of Performance: June 2017 – August 2017
